I certainly did know that latter fact. My (early; 1986) base model Peugeot 205 had the same engine. Did you know that in that X drivetrain engine and transmission share the same oil?

While I was posting this pic, I realized that it was actually really close in design to the 205 that came next. Never seen it before, never thought about it. No I’m not on something. Look, see ?
